Tver Northern Bypass Construction Project was Approved by the State Expert Board

The design documentation for the construction of the new section of the M-11 Neva Highway was approved by the state expert board, which evidences compliance of the designs with the requirements of the existing Russian norms and standards.

We are talking about construction of more than 60 km highway of 1-A technical category with 4 traffic lanes (two in each direction). This highway section, which connects the two capitals, will have 28 engineering structures, including the Volga River overpass, with a total length of about 740 meters.

Additionally, construction of split-level road interchanges is scheduled at the intersection with the M-10 Russia; Tver - Kimry; Tver - Bezhetsk - Vesegonsk - Ustyuzhna; Mednoe - Kulitskoye.

For the convenience of road users, to ensure safe and comfortable traffic, the project of the new road includes the overhung electric lighting of the roadway, two recreation areas combined with multi-functional service areas.

Construction of the Tver Northern Bypass will give a new impetus to the development of production and logistics not only in Tver Region, but also along the entire route between Moscow and Saint Petersburg. The Northern Bypass will significantly improve the traffic and environmental conditions in Tver. It will also increase transport accessibility of tourist sites in the attraction zone of the new section of the M-11.

The builders intend to ensure the traffic along the main course of the highway by the end of 2023. The entire project, which will reduce travel time between the two capitals by at least one more hour, will be completed in two years.
