Bridge in DPR was reconstructed in less than six months

The bridge over the Kalmius River near the village of Novoekaterinovka in the Donetsk People's Republic has been repaired in record-breaking time. It took Russian Highways road workers less than six months to renovate the 64-meter road structure.

The opening ceremony was attended by Denis Pushilin, Head of the Donetsk People's Republic, Rinat Shaniyazov, Executive Director of Avtodor-UP LLC, Artem Bafanov, Deputy Minister of Transport of the DPR and Denis Kravchuk, Head of the Contractor.

Prior to starting the work, the bridge builders dismantled worn out cones and stops, staircases, railings and barriers, and disassembled monolithic approach slabs. Next, the bridge builders set up a monolithic transition slab, applied waterproofing, then laid two layers of asphalt concrete, mounted a rail and a barrier fence. The supports and spans were also repaired and then painted.

The bridge links together three districts of the Republic: Amvrosievsky, Starobeshevsky and Volnovakhsky. Passenger transportation between the settlements of the Starobeshevsky Municipal District, which is home to about 30,000 thousand residents of the Republic, is carried out using the structure. Moreover, this vital traffic intersection reduces the travel time to the Shramko and Uspenka checkpoints and provides access to the P-150 "Belgorod - Starobelsk - Lugansk - Donetsk - Mariupol" Federal Highway.
