Repair work at two motorways in Kherson Oblast is 50% complete

In Kherson Oblast, the Russian Highways State Company keeps restoring segments of the Odessa - Melitopol - Novoazovsk (33 km) and the Kherson - Dzhankoi - Kerch (54 km) motorways.
At the section from Fedorovka to Nizhniye Torgayev of the Odessa - Melitopol - Novoazovsk motorway, the contractor company has cleared the right-of-way, completely milled the road surface, installed the binder course and more than half of the surface one. Road improvement works are also planned: road signs and bus shelters will be installed, and road markings will be applied.
For many years the road connecting a number of minor settlements was in a state of disrepair - it was unsafe for motorists to travel on it.
Further, the rehabilitation of 54 km of the highway to Crimea is in progress. It is the Kherson - Dzhankoi - Kerch motorway. To recap, 20 km of it have been restored last year.
Work is progressing, with the old road surface milled off. The bottom asphalt layer is 85% complete, and the top layer is 48% done. The curbstone is being installed. Safety elements will also be installed on the site and landscaping will be carried out.
The segment of the Odessa - Melitopol - Novoazovsk highway will improve transport accessibility and reduce travel time to the Perekop IACP towards the town of Armyansk in the Republic of Crimea, which in summer is the main transportation crossing for trucks to supply Crimea with grocery products.
It is slated to complete all works at the segments by the end of this year.
