Russian Highways to repair over 430 km of motorways under the 2026 operational program

In the road construction season of 2026, the Russian Highways State Company plans to refurbish more than 430 km of motorways, including over 10 km of major repairs.
Major structural repairs will be carried out at the main southward road — the M-4 "Don" highway. Measures are planned to increase traffic capacity along two segments of the M-4, totaling more than 10 km in length, within the boundaries of Moscow and Voronezh Oblasts.
Under the repair program in 2026, 24 segments of six expressways are planned to be repaired across the Russian Highways road network. Thus, on the M-1 "Belarus", road builders will perform renovation works at three segments in Moscow and Smolensk Oblasts, with a total length of 23 km. On the M-3 "Ukraina", it is planned to improve the transport and operational condition of a 22-kilometer section in Kaluga Oblast. Also, along the A-107 "Moscow Small Ring", two segments with a length of 28.1 km will be rehabbed.
Down the Central Ring Road in the Moscow region, 114.5 km of the surface course of the pavement will be renewed this year.
Along the M-4 "Don", professional crews will have to bring 13 sections of the highway in six regions to a normative condition. Their total length will amount to 101.8 km. In particular, the work is planned in Moscow, Tula, Lipetsk, Voronezh and Rostov Oblasts, as well as in Krasnodar Krai.
The surface course of the pavement at three segments of the M-11 "Neva" expressway connecting Moscow and St. Petersburg will be replaced this year, with a total length of 132.6 km. The operations are to be carried out in the Tver, Novgorod and Leningrad Oblasts.
The comprehensive work on upgrading sections of the expressways aligns with the goals of the national project "Infrastructure for Life," according to which, by 2030, the share of roads in the Russian Federation's core network in a standard condition should be at least 85%. This is one of the most important indicators that directly affects the motorway throughput, safety and comfort of road travel.
